Furman University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Clinic

The Furman University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Clinic is open to all girls in middle school and high school. It will be on January 15 at the Furman University campus. Sessions for high school registrants will run from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. While sessions for middle school registrants will run from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Additionally, this one-day training program includes individual skill development, a campus tour, and competitive games and scrimmages. Participants need to bring their own lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouthpiece. Also, goalies need to bring their own equipment. Registration is only until January 8.

Furman University, originally Furman Academy and Theological Institution, is a private, coeducational, liberal arts university in Greenville, South Carolina. It is the oldest learning institution in the state of South Carolina. Its name is in honor of Richard Furman, a Baptist Church Pastor. The university is an affiliation of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Moreover, it is also part of the Annapolis Group and the Oberlin Group. Furman University is 53rd in the National Liberal Arts Colleges, 2017 edition of the US News and World Reports’ Best Colleges rankings. Currently, the Furman University accommodates around 2,700 undergraduate students. It also has 20 intercollegiate teams. They call themselves the Paladins. And, they are competing in the Southern Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1. Purple and white are the university’s identity colors.

 

Furman University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Clinic Organizers

Head Coach Rachel Whitten, a native of Annapolis, Maryland, is leading the Furman University Paladins women’s lacrosse team since the 2015-2016 season. She is a bachelor’s degree in business administration graduate from Loyola University. Then, the Paladins women’s lacrosse assistant coaches are Erin Fitzgerald and Sara Kuhlman. Coach Fitzgerald is a Northwestern graduate of bachelor’s degree in communications. Meanwhile, Coach Kuhlman is a High Point graduate of bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. And finally, the Furman University Paladins women’s lacrosse department assistant is Dawn McCollum.
