Vanderbilt University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Camp

Vanderbilt University will be holding its Vanderbilt University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Camp on December 2. It is an all skill lacrosse development camp for all girls 10 to 18 years of age. The training program includes small field and full field drills. Moreover, this winter lacrosse camp is a unique opportunity to experience training and evaluation from the Vanderbilt University women’s lacrosse coaching staff. Sessions will be according to age and skill level. Attendees will also be able to experience participating in competitive games and scrimmages. Overall, it will be a fun day of lacrosse learning.

Vanderbilt University or colloquially just Vandy is a private, coeducational, research university in Nashville, Tennessee. Its name is in honor of its founder Cornelius Vanderbilt, a prominent American Commodore, railroads and shipping business magnate, and philanthropist in the 19th-century. Vanderbilt University is a member of the Southeastern Universities Research Association. It is also part of the Association of American Universities and the Universities Research Association. Currently, it is serving around 6,900 undergraduate students with a 49 percent male and 51 percent female gender distribution. The university has also a very selective 11 percent enrollment acceptance rate. Furthermore, Vanderbilt University is 14th in National Universities, of the 2018 edition of US News and World Reports Best Colleges rankings. In sports, Vanderbilt University features teams in the Southeastern Conference while its women’s lacrosse team is in the Big East Conference.

 

Vanderbilt University Women’s Lacrosse Winter Camp Organizers

Leading the Vanderbilt University women’s lacrosse team is head coach Cathy Swezey, a native of Moorestown, New Jersey. She is the 2008 American Lacrosse Conference Coach of the Year and Vanderbilt’s women’s athletics Coach of the Year. Coach Swezey is also the 2002 ALC Coach of the Year and InsideLacrosse.com National Coach of the Year. Then, the Vanderbilt University women’s lacrosse associate head coach is Beth Hewitt. Ford Martin is the team’s assistant coach. And finally, completing the women’s lacrosse coaching staff is Lisa Gracey, the director of lacrosse operations.
